This is a cake that Lori and I decorated for Aaron's Recital this month. It was our first experience with fondant and gum paste. Lori did most of the work on this one but I enjoyed being able to help out.
This cake was my final project for my cake decorating class. We made all of the flowers out of royal icing and the birds out of color flow during the first two classes. Then iced (basket weaveon the sides with a rope boarder around top and bottom) and assembled the cake during the third class. It has been so much fun to learn how to do all of this stuff.
