My sister called on saturday afternoon saying that she thought she might be in early labor. She was cramping but not officially having contractions. I decided to go down to Pleasant Grove since she had asked me to be at the birth and, with 2 hours of driving ahead of me, I didn't want to wait too long to get down there and end up missing the birth. I took Henry to my mom's house and got him to bed and then took a nap until Becca called me at about 10:45 to come help her while she labored at home. I got there and she was doing great but the contractions were getting closer together. She had a few contractions at home and then she felt like we should go to the hospital. On the way out the door she had a really long hard contraction (although she looked so relaxed that unless you have done this yourself you wouldn't have known it was hard at all) and then we got in the car. She said that was the "meanest" one so far. We got to the hospital at 11:45 pm and she was 7cm dilated. She was so excited. She actually had me fooled. I thought that she was too calm to be that far along. She did such a great job managing her labor. Abigail was born at 1:09 am after only 3 contractions of pushing. It was such a wonderful experience to be there with Becca and help her to have her baby. I'm so proud of her for doing such a wonderful job getting Abby here and for being such an awesome mom. Brett was such a great support to her as well. He is an excellent husband to Becca. It was so sweet to watch him help her through the contractions. Being there for Abby's birth was such a miraculous experience for me and I'm so grateful to Becca and Brett for including me in this special event.

That's great that you were able to be such a wonderful doula for Rebecca. Now that precious little Abby has arrived, maybe you and your family could sneak up for the reunion.;)
