Yesterday Spencer sang a song to me about Christmas that he had made up. It went something like this. Who has a white beard? Santa but he's not really real but Jesus is real and he loves us...
Last night both boys got to participate in the nativity at our ward Christmas party. They were adorable. It was hard to get a good picture where we were sitting but they were sweet none the less. They love the story of Jesus Birth and were very excited to be shepherds. They got to see Santa at the end of the party. (We enjoy Santa as a fun Christmas story in our family rather than making up stuff to answer their very insightful questions that get more and more complicated all the time) When asked what he wanted for Christmas, Spencer just asked for a candy cane.
In Fast and Testimony Meeting, both boys bore their testimonies. Dallin went first and bore a sweet testimony of Joseph Smith. Toward the end of the meeting Spencer stood up and he bore a sweet testimony about Jesus and how "Jesus loves us and wants us to come back to him. He wants us to go to church and we have good teachers and God gave us families." It was very simple and powerful. He was so sweet. It was one of those moments when you feel like maybe you are doing ok as a parent after all. I love my sweet boys.
