Logan

So we have moved to Logan. It's been such a whirlwind the last few weeks as we've been getting settled in our new home. It was really hard to leave all of our dear friends in Boulder but I guess it had to happen at some point or another. We left Boulder on May 30th and drove to our parents houses and waited for our stuff to arrive in Logan. We left the kids with my parents and drove up to Logan on Monday morning (June 2nd.) We got a call from our movers just as we walked into our apartment. They said they would be there with our stuff in a few minutes. It was perfect timing. It took about 2 hours for them to unload all of our stuff and then Matt and I spent three days unpacking and organizing our home. It was much easier to do since our kids were at grandma's but we missed them and were ready to get them back again Thursday morning.
Dallin has been crossing his eyes a lot lately so we visited my sister's father-in-law, an optometrist, on Friday afternoon. His eyes are fine he is just a little bit farsighted which is pretty common for little kids. He crosses his eyes in an attempt to focus. He will wear glasses for the next few years and as he grows up he will out grow the farsightedness. He picked glasses that look similar to Matt's so they will be "twins."
The boys love our new apartment. Dallin said "This house is adorable" and Spencer is very excited about having two bathrooms. He keeps saying,"We have two potties and two baths!" So far we haven't seen many of our neighbors. The weather has been pretty cold and rainy so we haven't been outside much. Dallin misses having friends to play with.
Our ward is HUGE. 940 people are on the roles with people moving in and out every week. It is so different from Boulder Ward. Spencer went into nursery without a problem. He did mention wanting his Bishop Rayback as we walked to church though. Dallin needed me to sit with him through primary for his first week but he seemed to like his class. Hopefully next week will go better.
I'm getting spoiled lately with some of the "finer things" that we've gone without during grad school. I have dryer now so laundry is so easy to stay on top of. The apartment has a dishwasher so I feel like I'm cheating because it's never been this easy to keep up with the dishes. The most luxurious thing is we got new furniture. We have a beautiful living room set with and couch, love seat and chair. They are beautiful and very comfortable and there is enough room for more than 2-3 people to sit. This must be what it feel like to be an adult.

Can we bring all of our dirty dishes and wet laundry out to your place when we come to visit? Sounds like you're respectable citizens now. So glad to hear that the move went well - we miss you guys so much! They're closing Athens North (now it's going to be a freshman dorm), so there's a really nice couple moving into your old place from there, but they don't have kids. So sad! Hugs for everyone from all of us!
